Loyd ’t Hart | Urban & Street Photographer

I didn’t start photographing Rotterdam because it was “pretty.” I started because it felt honest. A city that shows its seams: cranes, wind, glass, wide skies—and people moving through it like it’s choreography they didn’t rehearse.

I’m Loyd ’t Hart, based in Rotterdam, and I make street and urban photography across Rotterdam and Western Holland. Most days you’ll find me on a bike with a camera—not as a statement, but because it’s how I think. Cycling keeps me alert. It forces decisions. You either see it now, or it’s gone.

“I don’t hunt images. I collect small proofs that a day really happened.”

This website, loydharolds.nl / Point ’n Shoot, is my way of sharing those proofs—plus the places where they happened. Not so you can copy a frame, but so you can stand there, feel the light, watch the rhythm, and make something that’s yours.

I work mostly in black & white, because it strips the scene down to timing and structure. When I do color experiments under SynthographyStudio, it’s a separate playground: more editorial, more designed—still driven by curiosity.

If you’re here to explore Rotterdam with a camera: welcome. Bring one lens, stay moving, and trust your attention.
